TRAINING CENTRE REOPENS 4TH JANUARY
Due to the Government’s classification of the energy sector and it’s supply chain as a critical industry, we continue to deliver courses as planned from the 4th January onwards, with safety measures firmly embedded in our daily processes here at Survivex and our sister company AIS Training.
The first few months are anticipated to be the busiest of the year as people prepare for the 2021 season. Our training courses are continuing to run from the 4th January and we are still taking bookings, but with measures in place to protect you and our colleagues.
Jamie Purves, general manager at AIS Survivex in Aberdeen, describes how stringent safety measures are being implemented:
“As our staff return to work we will all undergo pre-screening tests before we resume training in the New Year. Our class sizes continue to be restricted and we have been complimented by the awarding bodies and clients for our approach to in-centre safety. The use of PPE, social distancing and a rigorous cleaning process all contributes to keeping us extremely safe. To help restrict class sizes, whilst facilitating the industry’s training requirements we are offering evening training, virtual classrooms or twilight courses for businesses and delegates.
“Fresh air and cleaning remain one of the key mitigating measures for Covid-19. All delegates are asked to wash their hands-on arrival and have their temperature checked. You’ll sit at the same desk for the duration of your course – which is marked and referenced so we can complete contact tracing. Where possible our windows and centre shutters stay open, with filtered air systems used to clean the air. In addition, we have increased our cleaners’ shift patterns to enable centres to be cleaned more frequently.
“The most unfortunate change comes with our lunches as we have had to close our restaurant in line with Government guidelines to minimise social interaction. Instead delegates will eat within the training centre with a nutritious choice of sandwiches, snacks and drinks until we are able to offer our full meal experience again.
“We’ve worked hard to implement these processes. However, we continually review our feedback sheets and carry out our own internal reviews. If you have any comments on how we could improve further, please send them to us and we’ll implement where possible.”
