Advanced simulator developer, Drilling Systems, has appointed a new business development manager to support key clients and raise awareness of its state-of-the-art simulator systems throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
Andreas Smith, who will be based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, has a wealth of experience in the energy sector having grown up in Saudi Arabia and spent his career to date working in oil and gas.
Most recently, Andreas was head of IKTVA and competency training and workforce development for oilfield services company, Saudi Arabian Saipem. During this role, Andreas was responsible for procuring several Drilling Systems’ simulators for training onshore and offshore drilling personnel at Saipem so has extensive knowledge of the systems’ features and benefits.
Andreas said: “I’ve worked extensively with the Drilling Systems team for a number of years so know them well and like them enormously. Drilling Systems’ simulation technology is second to none with the quality of the product speaking for itself – particularly around customisability and the accuracy of its software and visual content. The company has an excellent reputation in the oil and gas industry so when the opportunity to join the team came along, I jumped at the chance.
