AIS Survivex Diversifies into Utilities Training for First Time Following Seven-Figure Deal

Following the Group’s recent acquisition of Utility and Construction Training Ltd, it’s great to see that AIS Survivex are now offering its first-ever utility training courses’.

Joining 3t Energy Group’s portfolio of businesses in Q4 of 2022, UCT will now bring its industry-leading SHEA Gas training course to AIS Survivex locations in Aberdeen, and Newcastle, as well as UCT’s Manchester training centre.

This is fantastic news as we see our customer bases grow further across the UK, with more courses set to roll out in our training centres in the coming months.

The first step into the utilities sector for AIS Survivex, UCT is one of the few providers to offer training across the entire utility sector and AIS Survivex will be combining this extensive expertise with its own to provide an unrivalled offer to utilities companies and its own clients.

Paul Knowles, Vice President of Training at AIS Survivex, said:

“This is great news for our own client base and for those operating in the construction and utilities sectors. We previously used to outsource these courses so taking them in-house allows us to pass on real, measurable cost savings to our clients who operate across multiple sectors, as well as bringing new locations online for added convenience.

“It also allows us to diversify into utilities for the first time. With more than half a million people in the UK working in utilities, this is a sizeable new market for us. AIS Survivex has an unrivalled reputation built over more than a decade for making the energy industry as a whole safer, smarter and more efficient through better training. We are looking forward to bringing this same ethos and our expertise to support the utilities sector.

“This new course offering is just the start – we will be rolling out a wide range of other training for the utilities and construction sectors in the months ahead.”

The SHEA Gas course is a one-day safety critical training course, which is essential for anyone in the utilities industry who works on construction sites or at operational power distribution locations, and provides an induction to health and safety on a live site.

SHEA Gas courses are globally recognised and delegates who successfully complete the training become registered with the Energy and Utility Skills Register (EUSR) – an industry passport card required by those working with gas, power and water.
