What is the key to decarbonising our environment

By Martin Hottass.

COP26, the current geopolitical instability, and the impact of climate change have accelerated the UK’s energy transition – with unprecedented levels of consented offshore wind projects and making the move to hydrogen and geothermal energy (with or without CCUS), our energy supply is set to change forever.

The government’s ambitious timetable to reach Net Zero needs to be underpinned by an equally ambitious up and cross-skilling programme. After all, 80% of the workforce of 2030 are already in employment now and need different skills to make the government’s agenda a reality.

At 3t, we work with customers and educational partners to develop learning solutions that equip our clients with the skills they need to execute contracts successfully. Whether it be bespoke up or cross-skill training, traditional blended learning or digital twinning, 3t Energy Group’s businesses (AIS Survivex, Drilling Systems, and 3t Transform) use technology to transform training through the delivery of innovative solutions to allow clients to advance towards a net-zero future.

So, what is the key to decarbonising our environment? Up-skilling the industry’s workforce to fit the changing needs of the industry and attracting new talent into the energy sector are two important parts of the jigsaw, and we believe our industry-focused, innovative training solutions can do just that.
